Continue ShoppingCovid_19 Update #2 – Aberdeen’s Wool
With the heaviest of hearts, and a giant wave of fear. We have the following announcement.
Effective Wednesday March 18th, 2020 at 6 pm, Aberdeen’s Wool Company, will be temporarily closing our store front. Due to the necessary precautions to avoid community spread of the Covid_19 virus.
What does this mean for our Customers?
We will continue to offer curbside pick up, and phone in orders (705-928-5417) Monday to Friday from 11-4 and 10-12 on Saturday’s. We will be adding a curbside pick up option to our checkout for online orders, and then when you arrive in the parking lot, beep your horn, and we will bring your order to you.
Our online shop will continue to operate in the same fashion, and we will be shipping orders daily. We will continue to offer the best customer service we can throughout what are scary times for everyone. We will also be posting special online content (sales, free patterns, etc.) daily through our social media, and on our website. We have also started a Mystery Knit Along, so we can all virtually stay together, and uplift each other’s spirits during these scary waters, all of us facing our own fears during what is a world of unknowns. We will also be hosting an online Crochet Along, (more info about that later in the week)
All classes as noted already are postponed, and everyone who has paid for their class, will be issued a store credit, and when those classes are rescheduled (if the dates, times etc. don’t work for you, we will issue a full refund at that time)
Our subscription boxes will continue to be shipped without interruption.
We are thankful for all of you, and we have been very humbled by the online support already. So we want to make sure you are acknowledged, and a huge thank you goes to you.
What does this mean for our Employees?
First and foremost, each of our employees will receive their regular pay. Many of our employees at this time (without any concrete update from the government at the time of writing this) qualify for E.I., we are not prepared to let them fall through the cracks.
We are committed to helping each other through this, both to our customers, our employees, and our community.
For our Community
We hope that we can help flatten the curve by providing our staff, and customers the appropriate social distancing, while keeping a virtual “togetherness” available. All of us will be coping with this in our own way, for what appears to be a bit of time, we need to check in with each other. Be kind to one another, help those we can, when we can.
We will also be suspending our Australia Bush Fire Fundraising, although it breaks my heart to do so. Our community is in need, as are our employees. All remaining stock of the Australia Collection will be diverted to both our employees, and community initiatives such as the Food Bank.
In closing, I just wanted to say how much I appreciate each and everyone of you. We will all get through this, and with all the optimism in the world, we will come out the other side of this better, kinder, gentler, more loving, and maybe with more open hearts. Please stay safe, healthy, be mindful of your mental health, snuggle your pets, knit some, stay home, wash your hands.
With Much Love and Gratitude
Heather, and everyone at Aberdeen’s Wool Company

Hi there!
I just ordered a Pickle Jar Striped Cowl knitting kit but I ordered it to my senior’s building in Montreal. I just realized that in the COVID virus they won’t deliver to my building. Please change my shipping address to my daughter’s house and she can it bring it to me.
Her address is:
Susan Reece
263 Nassau St.
Beaconsfield, QC
H9W 2V3
Thank you so much.
If you have any questions please phone me at 514-695-2858
Thank you,
June Reece

Thank you Heather for putting such a comprehensive plan in place. I’m so glad I discovered knitting and your wonderful store before these crazy times hit us. We all need activities to calm us and knowing that the fundraising efforts we’ve been contributing to are directed locally now is sensible. You’re a wise and thoughtful woman and we appreciate you!
